I can't say that I've ever tasted Romorantin, the native white grape of Cour-Cheverny in the Loire Valley from which hails today's wine, a 2004 Pascal Belliet. I expected it to be a green and austere Sauvignon Blanc based wine ala its neighbor region, called just plain Cheverny. Instead, it leans toward Chenin Blanc. A little nutty due to what seems to be a slightly oxidized style but still, it's bright fresh and crisp. But that bruised red apple quality that Chenin Blanc gives me really comes through, especially if it sits open for a day. Believe it or not, we did not finish the bottle last night!
This was $14.99 at the Cheese Store of Silverlake (our favorite cheese man, Chris P., is pictured!).

Proper-noun compound modifier in da maison? Ala is the magician who saws you in two in that soup commercial? 'It's' is the possessive 'it' instead of the third-person subject pronoun + auxiliary? You'll never blog wine in this town again. Btw, this drink is $14.99 @ the CSofSL, hot lipz. We slap the logo tag over the price tag for a reason, but not that reason.
